Christmas Store
The Mission provides a Christmas Store each December for families who would otherwise have little or nothing for Christmas. Donations of new clothes, toys, tools, household items, personal care items, cleaning products, laundry supplies and money are solicited throughout the year by the Mission staff for distribution in mid-December.
Invitations are sent to the most needy families in the area in early December. When the parents arrive to select Christmas gifts for their families, they are asked to donate two dollars to the Mission. The second year a family participates in the Christmas program they are asked to take part in budget counseling.
Each subsequent year families are asked to give 12 hours of community service at St. Vincent Mission, a local school or other non-profit organization.
